Vybz Kartel surprised many Jamaicans when he popped up at the 86th staging of the People’s National Party conference on Sunday. In several videos and photos now making rounds online, Vybz Kartel can be seen endorsing the PNP with a fist firmly in the air.
Aside from Mark Golden’s lengthy speech and L.A. Lewis seemingly donating JMD$2 million to the People’s National Party (PNP), Kartel’s appearance at the event is the most talked about topic.
Minutes before Vybz Kartel walked on stage at the event, several of his popular songs were played, causing uproar from the enthusiastic party members. Kartel walked onto the stage with Chief Richard Currie and Isat Buchanan to more uproar.
Following the conference, outside of the building, Kartel was asked multiple questions by Anthony Miller. In explaining why he turned up at the vent, he stated, “We just come to represent for our people dem politically… and the vibes is nice suh a deh suh the thing deh.”

Back in May of 2024, while in prison, the 48-year-old whose real name is Adidja Palmer hinted about joining politics, stating, “St. Catherine South, vote for ADIDJA PALMER as your new member of Parliament 2025.”
At the end of August, he returned with more political talks, claiming that he has not pledged any allegiance but he is strongly thinking about joining the field because he wants to see changes and believes he can help make changes for the better.
